Screen Printing

Screen printing pushes ink through a fine mesh stencil onto the fabric, one colour at a time. It gives bold, solid colours and is the most cost-effective method for large quantities of the same simple design.

Screen Printing for custom jerseys and T-shirts – Rigid Sportswear

How Screen Printing Works

  1. Prepare the screen

A mesh screen is coated with light-sensitive emulsion and exposed with your design to create a stencil.

  2. Set up colours

Each colour in the design gets its own screen, lined up so the layers match exactly.

  3. Print

Ink is pushed through the stencil with a squeegee onto the garment, one colour at a time.

  4. Cure

The printed garment is heat-dried so the ink sets and lasts wash after wash.

Best for

  • Event, marathon and campaign T-shirts in large quantities
  • Simple one- or two-colour logos and text
  • Cotton and cotton-blend garments
  • Bold, solid colours that stand out

Good to know

  • Each colour needs its own screen, so very colourful designs are better with DTF or sublimation
  • Individual names and numbers need a separate step

Ideal for custom T-shirts and bulk corporate T-shirts.

Screen Printing – FAQs

Is screen printing good for bulk orders?

Yes. Once the screens are ready, each extra piece is quick to print, which makes it efficient for large runs of the same design.

How many colours can screen printing use?

It works best with up to 3–4 solid colours. For photo-style or gradient designs we recommend DTF or sublimation.

Does screen printing last?

Yes. Cured screen-printed ink is durable and holds its colour through many washes.

Can I order a small quantity?

Yes. Our minimum order is 4 pieces, and we will suggest the most suitable printing method for your quantity.

Not sure which method is right?

Send us your design and quantity – we’ll suggest the best option and share a free mock-up and quote.
